My science experiment

HI bloggers

Today I am going to be sharing with you what I have been working on in literacy. Our group recently did an experiment we put ice in saltwater and freshwater. The freshwater actually melted the first witch I found pretty surprising because salt eats away at the ice. The reason the ice melted first in the freshwater is when you drop the ice cube in the freshwater is can go freely to the bottom then it circles back up around to the ice making the ice melt. The saltwater, on the other hand, is that when the cold from the ice tries to circle round and get stuck down the bottom and the salt also stays at the bottom but the ice cube sits at the top.

My two blog post in one

kia ora bloggers

Today I'm going to be talking about two things my koro art and a photo and tell you what I think it means.
My koro art is two hooks put together. The reason I chose to do 2 hooks is because my granddad loved to fish and I would have done it with him all the time if I was able to meet him. There is also a line connecting the two hooks showing that me and him will always be connected.  I cant take a photo of my art sorry about that guys but here is my second blog post for this week.

This is our inquiry for this week. We have to write three sentences about what we think this means.
I think this photo means that this guy is not begging for money he just want people to stop treating our world with so much disrespect. This is so sad because it's very true we need to stop treating our world like this so lets all try and make a change to what ever it is global warming to poverty lets just all work together.
Thank you for taking a look at my blog this week have a great day and I'll see u guys next time bye

vipers

kia ora bloggers

Today i'm showing what DavOs literacy have done for this week. This week we have been learning how to do vipers. I did this task with Max Henry. Max and I really enjoyed doing this not only because we learnt how to do vipers but also like working together. How we did these vipers was that we had to read a text that got assigned to us. Then we answer some questions and put the right answers. I hope you guys have enjoyed and also here is my work from this week have a great day and weekend.

The helplees man

Kia ora bloggers,

This week for literacy we have been learning about inferencing and show not tell.  When we read something, we automatically start making inferences, so it is important when we write that we give clues in our writing that allow people to make inferences.  We want to show them - not tell them.

For example:  Paul was frustrated when he got to the bus stop and realised he had just missed the bus.  But instead I could write “Running as fast as he could, Paul turned the corner only to see the back of the bus as it pulled away.  Throwing his bag down on the ground and sighing out loud, Paul realised that he had no choice, but to sit and wait for the next bus to arrive - 20 minutes from now”  You can infer from me saying ‘throwing his bag down and sighing out loud’ that he is frustrated.

Our task was to create a video that accompanied a piece of writing about an elderly man.  We used Adobe Spark to do this.

Have a look at my video and see if you can you make some inferences about what I have written.

Do you think the elderly man is happy?

my maths for this week

HI blogger

This week for my blog post I'm going to be sharing with you my maths for this week. For my maths this week we had to draw 3d shapes. The purpose in having 3d shapes is that your meant to be able to read 3 departmental shapes. I really enjoyed this task because i learnt something new and had lots of fun doing it. I recommend doing this. unfortunately I cant get my work on my blog for some reason
anyway have a great day

week 3 lock down task

Hi bloggers

Its week three of lock down today we learnt how to use subheadings.  We had to watch a video of giraffes and then write a documentary using subheadings. I completed this task by writing this on a doc the copy and pasting it onto the week three slide. I really enjoyed this task when u guys have some free time you should have a try at doing this. Here is my work from today I haope you guys enjoy have a nice day bye.

With their distinctive long necks and towering height , giraffes are some of the most mysterious  animals in the world. They are a very vulnerable Species that is on the decline.

Giraffes live in open woodlands and Grasslands in Africa. They are the tallest living land animal. Male giraffes can grow up to 5.8 metres which is 19Ft tall, that is double the height of the tallest man who ever lived . Baby Giraffes known as Calves are born being 6ft tall which means at only 1 day old they are taller than everyone in my class. Not only are they tall but they are also big. Giraffes weigh up to 1,360 Kgs and their hearts are 50 times the size of a humans.

Giraffes are herbivores and eat a diet of tree leaves and buds, their long necks enable them to reach the leaves at the very top of most trees. This is a huge advantage because no other animals in Africa can reach them. Interestingly they have only 7 neck bones to support their long neck which is the same amount of bones in the human neck.

Amazingly, Giraffes only need between 5 mins and 30 mins of sleep a day. They mostly sleep standing Up, this is so they won't be vulnerable to their Predators. They use their height to keep a look out for their predators. The giraffes biggest threat is human poachers who kill them for their skin, meat and tails.

Did you know that giraffes are the longest necked animals in the world.

Giraffes are such Amazing creatures lets hope we can keep them around for many more years to come.

Inferences

Kia ora Bloggers,

This week we have been looking carefully at making inferences when we read or
watch something.

An inference is when we take clues from a text or image, and
add them to our thoughts or prior knowledge and make an inference.
For example,  when I look at this photo, I might make the inference that
this photo was taken in a food factory as everyone is wearing hair
nets and this is required in all food factories.

The text that we read a snippet out of was ‘The Twits’ by Roald Dahl.
Once we had read the first few chapters where they described the main
characters, Mr and Mrs Twit, we then had to make some inferences based on the
clues that Roald Dahl had given in the text.

I used Google Draw to create a display of my inferences I have made about Mr
and Mrs Twit.

Have you read The Twits before?  Do you agree with my inferences?
What inferences
would you make about the characters?

for example this one
 Here is my work

See you next time!!

How I'm felling about covid-19

I'm tired of this covid-19. I am having to stay inside my dads working on his jewellery 12 hours a day and I am having to look after the kids. I'm getting really bored having to see the same people every day and not getting to see my friends. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm missing school. I’m so bored I’m looking for new stuff to do and getting in trouble. But on the bright side  at least I still have my PS4 and my new 8pack OrionX High End gaming PC. At least I'm not alone like some men/women who just moved out of home. I also still get to see my dad. I do rugby throughs with my dad and back yard sport. So over all I have mixed feelings about this covid-19

Hi bloggers today I'm sharing with u how I feel about covid-19. I hope you guys enjoy it and stay safe Toroa.
