week 3 lock down task

Hi bloggers

Its week three of lock down today we learnt how to use subheadings.  We had to watch a video of giraffes and then write a documentary using subheadings. I completed this task by writing this on a doc the copy and pasting it onto the week three slide. I really enjoyed this task when u guys have some free time you should have a try at doing this. Here is my work from today I haope you guys enjoy have a nice day bye.

With their distinctive long necks and towering height , giraffes are some of the most mysterious  animals in the world. They are a very vulnerable Species that is on the decline.

Giraffes live in open woodlands and Grasslands in Africa. They are the tallest living land animal. Male giraffes can grow up to 5.8 metres which is 19Ft tall, that is double the height of the tallest man who ever lived . Baby Giraffes known as Calves are born being 6ft tall which means at only 1 day old they are taller than everyone in my class. Not only are they tall but they are also big. Giraffes weigh up to 1,360 Kgs and their hearts are 50 times the size of a humans.

Giraffes are herbivores and eat a diet of tree leaves and buds, their long necks enable them to reach the leaves at the very top of most trees. This is a huge advantage because no other animals in Africa can reach them. Interestingly they have only 7 neck bones to support their long neck which is the same amount of bones in the human neck.

Amazingly, Giraffes only need between 5 mins and 30 mins of sleep a day. They mostly sleep standing Up, this is so they won't be vulnerable to their Predators. They use their height to keep a look out for their predators. The giraffes biggest threat is human poachers who kill them for their skin, meat and tails.

Did you know that giraffes are the longest necked animals in the world.

Giraffes are such Amazing creatures lets hope we can keep them around for many more years to come.
